Symptoms of colic in babies

How would I distinguish if my baby has colic or is really sick?

• the main symptom is continuous crying for long periods of time. Although this crying can occur at any time, it usually worsens in the evening

• although colic is not thought to be due to pain, a baby with colic may look uncomfortable or appear to be in pain

• the baby may lift it’s head, draw legs up to tummy, arch his back, become red in the face and pass wind

• some babies refuse to eat

• difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep is also common
