Toddler:

When to postpone potty training?

If you’re getting signals that your toddler wants to use the potty, remind him/her about the potty whenever he/she wants to go. If you’re getting more resistance than success, go back to using nappies and try again in a month.

Don’t insist on potty use when there is a family problem or upset, or illness; turmoil with the parents; a lack of harmony in the home. When there is a new baby, when there is a new nanny in the house, or when there is an imminent move, or you have recently moved.
