Would I be allowed to have a home birth?

When is home birth possible?

The doctor has to ensure that you are in low-risk pregnancy and that you have no chronic medical problems, like hypertension or diabetes, and no history of critical labour or delivery before. It is also important to have transport available and that you live close to the hospital. The drive should not be longer than 40 km if traffic is light and the roads are good or 15 km if you haven’t these conditions. As delivery support, it is recommended to have two midwives and your General Practitioner should be on call.
