Breastfeeding – Engorgement – Discomfort

Anything else I can do ease the discomfort?

Then after feeding try to cool the breasts to reduce symptoms. There are various cooling pads for bras available and a simple ice pack would do. However don’t discount the old wives method – a cool cabbage leaf. You’ll be amazed how much heat it will draw out of your overheated breasts.

Despite the pain you are in it is important to wear a soft and comfortable bra, and also sleep in it if you can. You really do need the support while your breasts are undergoing so many changes.
