 Walking – The right age

It’s my baby’s first birthday next week and a few people have expressed surprise that she isn’t walking yet. Should I be concerned?

If only all that well meaning interference was a little more constructive. Your baby will walk when she is ready. That’s the truth. So some babies are walking well by their first birthday, while others take months more. Actually, the majority of babies walk after their first birthday. If your baby is doing well physically, and your doctor has seen the baby at the one year check up, then walking is an activity that your baby is still working towards. Whatever anyone says to you, the fact is that walking age is not an indicator of intelligence or physical ability. There is no correlation at all.
