My baby has just produced her first tooth and I am as proud
as punch! Should I be dashing off to take her for a dental
checkup?
The first tooth is a wonderful milestone!
However it is not a sign that a visit to the dentist is required.
Usually the first dental visit should be scheduled for around
your baby’s second birthday.
Up to now a daily gentle rub of the gums
with a soft cloth was all that was required for dental hygiene.
Now that a tooth has appeared it would be a good idea to get
a very soft little toothbrush and give the tooth (as well
as subsequent teeth!) a brush after each meal.
