 Immunisation - Diphtheria :

Information about Diphtheria

This is a bacterial infection passed by water-born droplets. This causes severe infection in the throat which can lead to suffocation and death. Within days of infection the victim will experience fever and pain and swelling in the throat.

After inoculation with the DT or DTacP-Hib it is normal for infants to be slightly feverish, and off their food. Keep a close eye on the symptoms so that you can discuss them with your doctor. Rare cases of severe reactions have been experienced.
