  Breastfeeding – Mother’s Thirst :

I keep feeling very thirsty as I start feeding. Am I getting dehydrated?

This is another example of the wonderful design of the body. The thirst you experience just as you start feeding is just your body’s way of ensuring that you take in enough fluid. You are losing a lot more fluid than normal and need to replenish this fund. Other than drinking the required 8 glasses of water a day and obeying these thirst signals, you do not run any risk of dehydration.
