Breastfeeding – Breast Infection – Continuing feeding :

I have a breast infection and feel worried about passing it on to my baby. Should I stop feeding?

Not only is your baby well protected from infection by your breast milk, but you probably got the infection from the germs in the baby’s own mouth. So you are not going to infect your baby. But you do need to feed as much as possible during this time to help clear up the infection. Using warmth such as a compress or a warm bath to help you express excess milk is recommended.
